At 08:30 in the morning, we depart from Yerevan for Gyumri. We will explore Gyumri’s historic streets and discover the architecture of Old Gyumri and Kumayri, with their black and apricot-colored tuff buildings, old balconies and courtyards. We will also pass through streets and places where many well-known Armenian films were shot. We will visit Vardanants Square, Seven Wounds Church, the Mother Armenia Memorial and the Black Fortress, discovering different layers of Gyumri’s history and culture.
At one of the local restaurants or guesthouses, we will taste traditional Armenian dishes.
Yererouk Basilica is one of the most important monuments of early Christian architecture in Armenia. Dating from the 4th–5th centuries, the basilica stands in an open and spacious landscape, while archaeological remains in the surrounding area indicate the former existence of a settlement and religious center. Yererouk is included on UNESCO’s Tentative List for World Heritage.
Dashtadem Fortress is one of the most impressive preserved examples of medieval defensive architecture in Armenia. Its massive walls, defensive towers and citadel represent different stages in the development of the fortress. The main construction phases are associated with the 12th–14th centuries, while during later periods the fortress was repeatedly expanded and strengthened. The complex preserves the citadel, defensive structures, traces of religious and secular buildings, as well as sections of underground water systems.
At 17:00, we return to Yerevan.

We recommend respectful and comfortable clothing. The area around Yererouk is an open-air archaeological site with some uneven surfaces, so comfortable walking shoes are also recommended.

Some walking is required in the historic center of Gyumri and around the monuments included in the tour. This is not a hiking tour, but there are cobbled streets and uneven archaeological areas.
Not all filming locations are public spaces. Some courtyards and buildings are residential or privately owned, so access inside cannot be guaranteed. During the visit, we respect the privacy of local residents.
Photography is generally possible on public streets and in open public areas. Photography and access within private or residential areas depend on the accessibility of the location and the permission of the property owner.
Some historic streets in Gyumri are cobbled, while the areas around Yererouk and Dashtadem include uneven surfaces. If a guest has limited mobility, please inform us in advance so that we can adapt the program where possible.

The tour operates throughout the year. Departure from Yerevan is scheduled for 08:30, with return at 17:00. Depending on weather, road conditions, or access to the visited locations, the duration or order of individual stops may be slightly adjusted while maintaining the confirmed main itinerary. Some streets in the historic center of Gyumri are cobbled, while Yererouk and Dashtadem include uneven outdoor areas.

The tour can be customized according to guest preferences. It is possible to agree in advance on itinerary changes, add or remove stops and services, or create a customized itinerary if required.
