About this tour

Last updated:

This two-day journey brings together Armenia’s historical heritage, nature, and winemaking culture, introducing two different regions and their distinctive character.

The first day begins at Garni Temple, the only surviving pagan temple in Armenia and one of the most remarkable monuments of the country’s pre-Christian heritage.

From here, the journey continues to the Symphony of Stones, an impressive natural basalt formation in the Azat River Gorge, where towering vertical stone columns create one of Armenia’s most recognizable natural landmarks.

The next part of the day is dedicated to contemporary Armenian winemaking. We visit Manukyan Wine and Brandy Factory in Balahovit, Kotayk Province, where Armenian winemaking traditions are combined with modern production technologies.

A wine tasting and lunch featuring dishes from traditional Armenian cuisine are arranged here.

On the second day, we travel to Vayots Dzor, one of Armenia’s most important historical and wine-producing regions.

We visit Noravank, a medieval Armenian monastery surrounded by dramatic red cliffs. Its architecture and mountainous surroundings create one of the most recognizable landscapes of Vayots Dzor.

The journey then continues to Areni-1 Cave, also known as the Birds’ Cave, one of Armenia’s important archaeological sites.

The wine experience of the day continues at Old Bridge Winery, a family-run winery in Vayots Dzor.

A wine tasting and lunch featuring dishes from traditional Armenian cuisine are arranged here.

Over two days, the tour combines ancient history, Armenian architecture, unique natural monuments, the landscapes of Vayots Dzor, contemporary winemaking, and traditional Armenian cuisine into one complete journey.

The tour starts each day at 09:00 from the guests’ hotel in Yerevan. Return to Yerevan is approximately at 17:00.
