Manukyan Wine and Brandy Factory is located in Balahovit, in the heart of Armenia’s Kotayk Province, near the Yerevan–Sevan highway. The company brings together Armenia’s centuries-old winemaking traditions and modern European production technologies, creating wines and brandies that reflect both local heritage and a contemporary approach to quality.

The winery works with Armenian grape varieties such as Areni Noir, Voskehat and Kangun, sourcing grapes from important wine-growing areas including Vayots Dzor and the Ararat Valley. Modern European equipment is used throughout the production process, while aging takes place mainly in Armenian oak, together with selected American and French oak barrels.

One of the defining features of Manukyan is its focus on combining local raw materials with modern winemaking methods without losing the character of Armenian grape varieties. This approach has helped the company build a growing portfolio of wines under labels such as Anamor, Holani and Kouash.

In recent years, Manukyan wines have earned notable international recognition. Anamor Grand Reserve 100% Areni Noir 2021 received a Gold Medal and 96 points at IWSC 2025, while several Anamor wines received Silver Medals at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles 2025. Holani White and Anamor Grand Reserve were also awarded Silver Medals at the 2024 Concours Mondial de Bruxelles.

These awards reflect the winery’s increasing international presence and its focus on producing high-quality Armenian wines from native grape varieties. By combining Armenian terroir, local grapes, modern technology and careful oak aging, Manukyan Wine and Brandy Factory represents one of the modern directions of Armenia’s developing wine industry.

Visitors can also discover the winery’s production facilities, cellars and tasting programs, making Manukyan an interesting stop for travelers who want to learn more about contemporary Armenian winemaking and the evolution of local wine culture.
