About this tour

This 7-day journey is designed to reveal different regions of Armenia in one complete itinerary, combining historical and cultural landmarks, natural landscapes, local cuisine, and Armenian traditions.

Day 1 — We meet you at Zvartnots International Airport, transfer to Yerevan, explore the capital in the evening, and end the day with a welcome dinner. Overnight in Yerevan.
Day 2 — We leave Yerevan for Khor Virap, visit Areni Qay Winery, Areni-1 Bird Cave, Noravank, and continue to Jermuk, where we visit Jermuk Waterfall and the Mineral Water Gallery. Overnight in Jermuk.
Day 3 — From Jermuk we travel to Shaki Waterfall, visit Tatev Monastery, and continue to Goris for a city tour and a visit to the Old Goris settlement. Overnight in Goris.
Day 4 — From Goris we visit Old Khndzoresk, continue to Hayravank, and then travel to Yenokavan, where guests may choose from local activities such as ziplining, horseback riding, and other available experiences. Overnight in Yenokavan.
Day 5 — Guests may choose to join the Lastiver hike, after which we visit Dilijan and return to Yerevan in the evening. Overnight in Yerevan.
Day 6 — We visit the Arch of Charents, Garni Temple, the Symphony of Stones, and Geghard Monastery. During lunch, we take part in a traditional Armenian lavash-making master class, followed by a visit to Levon’s Underground Cave. Overnight in Yerevan.
Day 7 — Depending on your departure flight time, there may be time to visit Yerevan Vernissage for shopping before the main group transfer to Zvartnots International Airport.

On regular touring days, the program begins at 09:00 after breakfast at the hotel.

Accommodation throughout the tour is arranged in 3-star hotels. Hotel pricing is based on two guests sharing one room.

Itinerary

We meet you at Zvartnots International Airport and transfer you to Yerevan. The day’s program is arranged according to your actual flight arrival time. If you arrive before the standard hotel check-in time, we transfer to the hotel, where luggage may be left subject to the hotel’s arrangements. Standard hotel check-in begins at 14:00. Depending on your arrival time and the lunch schedule, we will be welcomed at a local restaurant or guesthouse, where we will enjoy traditional Armenian dishes. After check-in, time is provided to rest. In the evening, we begin our introduction to Yerevan. During the city tour, we explore the central parts of the capital and learn about Yerevan’s history, architecture, and contemporary urban life. The day ends with a welcome dinner. Overnight in a 3-star hotel in Yerevan.

After breakfast at the hotel, at 09:00 we check out and depart for Khor Virap. Khor Virap Khor Virap is one of Armenia’s best-known historical and spiritual landmarks. Its setting across the open Ararat Plain, with Mount Ararat rising in the distance, creates one of the country’s most iconic views. Areni Qay Winery We continue to Vayots Dzor and visit Areni Qay Winery, where we become acquainted with the region’s winemaking culture and the long tradition of grape growing in Areni. Areni-1 Bird Cave We then visit the Areni-1 archaeological site, also known as Bird Cave. Archaeological discoveries made here provide fascinating insight into the lives and culture of people who inhabited this area thousands of years ago. Noravank Our journey continues to Noravank. The monastery is surrounded by the dramatic red cliffs of Vayots Dzor and is distinguished by both its architecture and its natural setting. During the day, depending on the route and location, we will be welcomed at a local guesthouse or restaurant for lunch and enjoy traditional Armenian dishes. Jermuk Waterfall After arriving in Jermuk, we visit Jermuk Waterfall and take time to walk, relax, and enjoy the surrounding nature. Jermuk Mineral Water Gallery We also visit the Jermuk Mineral Water Gallery, where we learn about the town’s mineral-water tradition and have an opportunity to taste natural mineral water. Overnight in a 3-star hotel in Jermuk.

After breakfast at the hotel, at 09:00 we check out and depart toward Syunik. Shaki Waterfall We visit Shaki Waterfall, with time to enjoy the surrounding landscape, relax, and take photographs. Tatev We continue to Tatev Monastery, one of the most significant historical and cultural landmarks of Syunik. Tatev was an important spiritual and educational center of medieval Armenia. Its dramatic location above the Vorotan Gorge brings together Armenia’s history and the powerful landscapes of Syunik. During the day, depending on the location, we will be welcomed at a local guesthouse or restaurant for lunch and enjoy traditional Armenian dishes. Goris After Tatev, we continue to Goris. Upon arrival, we take a city tour of Goris. We walk through its older quarters and discover the city’s distinctive architecture, stone houses, and historic atmosphere. Old Goris Settlement We also visit the Old Goris settlement, where natural rock formations and historic cave dwellings tell the story of earlier habitation in this area. Overnight in a 3-star hotel in Goris.

After breakfast at the hotel, at 09:00 we check out and depart for Old Khndzoresk. Old Khndzoresk We visit Old Khndzoresk, known for its dramatic gorge landscape and historic cave dwellings. There will be time to walk through the area and discover both its historical setting and natural landscape. Hayravank We then continue toward Lake Sevan and visit Hayravank. The monastery stands close to the lakeshore and offers wide views across Lake Sevan and the surrounding mountains. During the day, depending on the location, we will be welcomed at a local guesthouse or restaurant for lunch and enjoy traditional Armenian dishes. Yenokavan We then travel to Yenokavan in the Tavush region. Depending on your interests and available time, you may choose from local activities such as ziplining, horseback riding, and other available experiences. These activities are not included in the basic tour price and are selected and paid for separately. Overnight in a 3-star hotel in Yenokavan.

After breakfast at the hotel, at 09:00 we check out and begin the day’s program. Lastiver — Optional Hike Guests who wish to do so may join the Lastiver hike. The hike passes through the forested landscapes of Tavush along natural woodland trails, with sections of ascent and descent. Along the way, we experience the forest, rocky scenery, and the natural environment characteristic of Lastiver. Participation in the hike is optional. Guests who prefer not to join may remain in Yenokavan and relax according to a pre-arranged plan. For the hike, comfortable closed walking shoes, clothing that allows free movement, and an outer layer suitable for the weather are recommended. The hiking route may be adjusted depending on weather conditions, trail conditions, and the overall capabilities of the group. During the day, depending on the location, we will be welcomed at a local guesthouse or restaurant for lunch and enjoy traditional Armenian dishes. Dilijan After Lastiver, we travel to Dilijan, surrounded by forested hills and mountain landscapes. There will be time to walk through the central part of the town and enjoy Dilijan’s calm atmosphere. We then return to Yerevan. Overnight in a 3-star hotel in Yerevan.

After breakfast at the hotel, at 09:00 we depart for the Kotayk region. Arch of Charents Our first stop is the Arch of Charents. On a clear day, it offers beautiful views of Mount Ararat and the surrounding landscape. Garni We then visit Garni Temple, one of Armenia’s best-known monuments from the country’s pre-Christian past. Symphony of Stones We continue to the Azat Gorge and visit the Symphony of Stones, a remarkable natural monument formed by towering basalt columns. Geghard Our next stop is Geghard Monastery, where medieval Armenian architecture blends naturally with the surrounding cliffs and rocky landscape. Lunch and Traditional Armenian Lavash-Making Master Class During the day, we will be welcomed at a local guesthouse or restaurant for lunch and enjoy traditional Armenian dishes. The traditional Armenian lavash-making master class takes place during lunch. We learn about the traditional preparation of lavash and have the opportunity to observe the process from beginning to end. Levon’s Underground Cave We visit the underground structure created by Levon, with its numerous halls, stairways, and passages carved by hand. We then return to Yerevan. Overnight in a 3-star hotel in Yerevan.

After breakfast at the hotel, the day’s program is arranged according to your departure flight time. Hotel check-out is by 12:00. If your flight is later than 12:00 and you wish to keep your room longer, late check-out or an extension of the room is paid separately by the guest. If the flight schedule allows, the driver will take you to Yerevan Vernissage, where you will have time to walk around independently, choose Armenian souvenirs, and shop. Afterward, depending on the flight schedule, the main group is transferred to Zvartnots International Airport. If members of the group are departing at different times or on different flights, the airport transfer included in the tour applies to the main group. Any individual transfer required at a different time is arranged at an additional cost.

The tour operates throughout the year. Accommodation is provided in 3-star hotels based on two guests sharing one room. Single occupancy, a different room type, or a higher-category hotel is available at an additional cost. Standard hotel check-in begins at 14:00. Hotel check-out is by 12:00. On days when the overnight location changes, we check out after breakfast and continue with the scheduled itinerary. Days 2–6 normally begin at 09:00. Arrival and departure day schedules depend on actual flight times. Ziplining, horseback riding, and other local activities in Yenokavan are optional and paid separately. Participation in the Lastiver hike is optional. The Lastiver hike follows natural forest terrain and requires comfortable closed walking shoes. The hiking route may be adjusted depending on weather and trail conditions. The lavash-making master class takes place during lunch on Day 6. The Vernissage visit is arranged only when the departure flight schedule allows. The included departure transfer applies to the main group. Individual transfers for guests departing at different times are paid separately.
