Mount Dimats is located in Armenia’s Tavush Region, in the Ijevan Mountains, within Dilijan National Park. Standing at an elevation of 2,378 m, the mountain is known for its impressive rock formations, high-altitude meadows, and panoramic views of the surrounding mountains.
The area around Mount Dimats features the forested slopes of Dilijan, open mountain landscapes, and high-altitude pastures. From the summit, breathtaking views open up toward the dramatic cliffs of the Ijevan Mountains, forested gorges, and the mountainous landscapes of Tavush. Along the hiking route, we will also visit the Hidden Waterfall, one of the natural attractions of this mountain adventure.
This one-day hiking tour is rated moderate to challenging. With an 18 km route and approximately 1,000 m of elevation gain, it requires good physical fitness and is recommended for participants with previous hiking experience.
Weather conditions in the higher sections of Mount Dimats can change rapidly. Strong winds, rain, fog, or trail conditions may affect the ascent. The route, schedule, and possibility of reaching the summit may change depending on weather conditions, the group’s pace, and safety considerations.
