Mount Apakeqar, also known as Abeghakar, is located in Armenia’s Tavush Region, between the villages of Hovk and Haghartsin, within Dilijan National Park. The mountain reaches an elevation of 1,651 m above sea level.
The area around Mount Apakeqar is characterized by the dense forests of Dilijan, mountain meadows, and the rocky landscapes of the Ijevan Mountains. During the ascent, views open up toward the surrounding forested slopes, while from the summit there are panoramic views of the Ijevan Mountains and the Aghstev Valley.
Our hiking route starts from Hovk village and continues toward the summit of Mount Apakeqar.
